Travel and Educational Scholarships
The Main EBMT annual meeting occurs each March/April in a different European country. We offer an opportunity for an individual to attend this meeting via a travel scholarship. As a committee we also offer other travel and educational opportunities for each year. We have established 3 types of travel/educational grants for our members:
Exchange Visits
This is an opportunity for 2 members to carry out an exchange between 2 centres in different UK cities. The visit will focus on a specific area of care for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation (SCT) and help to improve communication and collaboration between UK centres. There are 2 grants available each year, each to the value of a £500 (maximum). The grants are given away only in pairs, meaning that an interested person/centre should collaborate with a nurse/allied health professional from another centre. These 2 colleagues should apply together for the scholarship. If a person cannot find an interested colleague then we can help to find a centre interested in the exchange programme. In order to qualify for one of these grants, applicants must:
The first half of the money will be given to the recipients after receiving the collaborative abstract ; the second half will be given after receiving the article for the latest news section written by at least both parties who received the scholarship.
Applications should be submitted to Lisa Hammond, secretary of the EBMT (UK) NAP before 31st December of each year (Contact through the website).
Educational Travel
This scholarship is awarded once a year and is to the value of £500. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:
The first half of the money will be given to the recipients after receiving the collaborative abstract for the meeting; the second half will be given after receiving the article for the latest news section written by at least both parties who received the scholarship.
Applications should be submitted to Lisa Hammond, secretary of the EBMT (UK) NAP before 31st December of each year (Contact through the website).
EBMT Conference Travel
There is 1 travel grant of £500 available each year for a nurse to attend the annual EBMT conference. The travel grant is aimed at both nurses and allied health professionals employed in the SCT setting in the UK. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:
The first half of the money will be given to the recipients after receiving the collaborative abstract for the meeting; the second half will be given after receiving the article for the latest news section written by at least both parties who received the scholarship.
Only those nurses and allied professionals who have successfully submitted an abstract to main EBMT are eligible for this grant.
Applications should be submitted to Lisa Hammond, secretary of the EBMT (UK) NAP before January 1st of each year (Contact through the website).
